Online Classroom (Canvas) Frequently Asked Question

Getting access

UCSC Silicon Valley students can get access to the online classroom with this link, or via the log in menu in the header of the website.

Logging in the first time

When logging in to the online classroom for the first time, you will need to click Forgot Password? on the log in page.

Once you click Forgot Password, you'll receive an email with the subject line "Forgot Password: Canvas" from Instructure Canvas <notifications@instructure.com>. It will direct you to set a Canvas password.

Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the email in your inbox. 

We recommend that you make your password the same as your Student Account password.
