ALEX ALTEN, M.S., senior infrastructure security engineer (DevSecOps, DevOps, senior. software engineer, architect) with Zuora, has more than 30 years of experience in computer networking and security development. Formerly he was a lead infrastructure security engineer with Salesforce. He specializes in AWS/GCP cloud and Kubernetes container orchestration security architecture, network management and VPN protocols, Linux system software development, high-performance software, software reverse engineering, and cryptographic software systems. He has worked for a variety of high-technology firms and startups such as Novell, AT&T Research, RSA Security, TriStrata Security, General Dynamics, eBay, and Cloudgenix. He has numerous published patents. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and a minor in chemistry from University of Urbana-Champaign, a master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from San Jose State University, and has studied Linux, Machine and deep learning, and distributed systems at UCSC Silicon Valley Extension. He has previously taught for the San Jose State University Computer Science Engineering graduate department.
