STEPHANIE WEMUSA, BA, MSHROD, ombud of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, at Menlo College, has more than 15 years of experience developing inclusive workplace practices to source, recruit, engage, and advance diverse employees. Previous roles include working in leadership as a DEIB director for MindBody, a diversity and inclusion talent consultant with TalVista, and supporting DEI initiateves in some of San Francisco Bay Area’s signature organizations such as HP, Apple, eBay, Yahoo!, Juniper Networks, Intuitive Surgical, Inclusion Inc., and Synopsis. Her experience includes a wide range of varied HR functions, from recruitment and talent management to leadership training, diversity, and inclusion. Wemusa graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science. She earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. She is certified in Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) and CPI 260® personality assessments and Behavioral Interviewing. In addition to teaching, she is an advisory board member for LaborX, a startup; and has volunteered for numerous nonprofit organizations, such as the San Jose chapter of Jack and Jill, the South Valley Symphony Board, Leadership Gilroy Board, and Reading Partners literacy program. She is a former member of the UCSC Extension Human Resource Management program advisory board.
