Turn common sense into common practice
Highly effective teams can accomplish what would be difficult, or impossible, for one person acting alone. Imagine a single human being building the entire interstate highway system, or writing all of the books in your local library. Impossible!
In this PMISV event co-sponsored by the UCSC Silicon Valley Extension Project and Program Management Program, we'll talk about collaborating with others to accomplish goals that only a group of people can achieve.
A group, however, is not the same as a team, and there are many barriers to fully unleashing “group genius.” Even working with just one other person can be challenging. The complexity of teamwork rises exponentially.
Workshop Objectives
- Learn the top causes for failure in teams globally and how to overcome them.
- Experience the difference between leadership and management.
- Practice leading through A.C.T.—actions, communication, thinking—without regard to position or title.
- Apply your learnings and insights to your daily work.
Speaker
Kimberly Wiefling, founder of Wiefling Consulting and cofounder of Silicon Valley Alliances.
