About

YVETTE DURAZO, MA, PCC, is the principal consultant of Unitive Consulting, a workplace talent development, strategic conflict management, and leadership coaching firm. She brings innovative techniques to promote a positive workplace culture in organizations to foster trust, increase human capital engagement, productivity, and inclusion. Her consulting services include training in people’s skills, mediation services, dispute system design for organizations, and strategies to address diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Previous positions include teaching alternative dispute resolution, mediation, and communication at National University, serving as the Alternative Dispute Resolution program administrator for the Alameda County Superior Court of California, and most recently, as an organizational effectiveness and conflict specialist for the Santa Clara County Equal Opportunity Department. Durazo holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation, a Master's Degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peace Building from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and an undergraduate degree in International Business from San Diego State University. She is certified as a program manager, Human Resource, mediator, restorative justice facilitator, and nonviolent communication specialist. Durazo is bilingual in Spanish. She is the author of Conflict Intelligence Quotient (Conflict-IQ); The Missing Piece to Turbocharge Conscious Leaders’ and Organizations’ Emotional Intelligence. She is a former co-chair of the Human Resources Management program.

This class meets simultaneously in a classroom and remotely via Zoom. Students are expected to attend and participate in the course, either in-person or remotely, during the days and times that are specified on the course schedule. Students attending remotely are also strongly encouraged to have their cameras on to get the most out of the remote learning experience. Students attending the class in-person are expected to bring a laptop to each class meeting
